| 1. What is broadband?
|
| Broadband means, very simply, a high-speed
connection to the Internet that is 'always on'. It is up to
10 to 40 times faster than a 56K modem enabling you to view
web content and download files more quickly. It's called broadband
because it has a much larger capacity to receive (and send)
data.

| 2. Why should I consider
broadband? |
| Whether you use the Internet for business
or leisure, broadband offers a wide range of benefits. As
it's 'always on', there's no waiting to dial so you can surf
whenever you like and also remain constantly in touch by email.
It's flexible too, enabling you to talk on the phone when
you're online - so you'll never miss an important work or
social call. High-speed access making viewing and downloading
everything - from music or video clips to large work files
- much quicker and easier.

| 3. What equipment do I
need for broadband? |
| This will depend on who supplies your broadband
- but essentially all you need is a computer that meets the
minimum requirements, a suitable phone line, plus a broadband
modem and microfilters (phone adapters) - which you can add
to your broadband order. Depending on what package you choose,
you'll either be able to install everything yourself or have
an engineer come to help you.

| 4. How do I choose the
service that's right for me? |
| This will depend on what you will be using
broadband for. If you are using it from home or a small office,
choosing a service that offers a speed of 500kbps is ideal
for general surfing and emailing. However, if you are downloading
lots of videos or sending very large files, it may be better
to choose a broadband service with even higher capacity. Products

| 5. Am I charged for the
time my broadband modem or computer is online? |
| No, with our broadband packages you'll
pay a fixed amount each month, no matter how often you use
it. You should always check this when ordering.

|
| 6. Will I need to buy
any extra software? |
| As your broadband connection is 'always
on', it is a good idea to install firewall software to protect
you from any attempts by hackers to access the files on your
computer. You may also choose to buy anti-virus software.
